Documentary Video Production

At 7th Wave Pictures, documentary video production is at the forefront of much of our work. We shoot many sit-down interviews for broadcast and corporate clients. We can achieve dramatic lighting or scale it back with just a simple three light setup. Viewing some of our work, such as the examples provided below, will give you an idea of different styles and lighting inherent to our documentary filmmaking services.

In a corporate documentary video production, for instance, filmmaking techniques can be utilized to promote and educate, or used for archival purposes. A well-produced documentary can show how a company started, what it has accomplished and where it is going. 7th Wave Pictures can also shoot historical documentaries that adeptly capture the subject with ease. Filmmaking Services

7th Wave Pictures completed its first documentary feature “Back to Brisbane” in 2010. Directed by Matt Ruggles, the story is about an Australian aboriginal artist who attempts to reconcile a relationship with her mother who was forced to give her up for adoption. It is an emotional story that touches on cultural identity, family reconnection, and the stolen generation. For more information on the film, please visit www.backtobrisbane.com

Matt Ruggles has also worked with other filmmakers and video production companies throughout the US and right here in Atlanta. Documentary filmmaking services provided by 7th Wave Pictures have included shooting, sound mixing, and editing. We have worked on cinéma vérité projects and love seeing a story unfold before our eyes. The latest project, in which Matt Ruggles serves as director of photography, is called “Season of a Lifetime.” This documentary video production is the compelling story of high school football coach Jeremy Williams from the one-stop light town of Greenville, Georgia, trying to win a state football championship while dying from the incurable disease ALS.
